Hello! What a CAPITAL rumour!

("CAPITAL", get it? Cos I'm in Delhi. Ok, no more groans. And ENOUGH with throwing rotten eggs at me!)
--------------------
A-hem...

Helloooo gitty ones!

I heard some rumours about keeping this blog alive so I just thought I'd drop in... and, like most rumours THAT proved to be untrue! So I'm starting a new rumour now! THIS BLOG IS ALIVE!

So get your asses here, everyone!

Am I too demanding? Huh! I don't give a damn! :P

Ok, so what's happening with me? (I'm gonna tell you, even if you don't want to know--what a treat!) Well, I have managed in my usual whining way to settle into life at JNU. It's a lovely campus--huge and green. I'm in the School of Languages, Literature and Culture Studies and my dept. is the Centre for Linguistics. Classes are excellent--we have some very important and famous Indian linguists as part of our faculty. The course is brilliant. Semantics is so far my favourite paper--it's all abstract and challenging and even slightly philosophical sometimes! Other papers are also great.

The library is HUGE! And I mean it--it's eight stories high with an electronic library coming up on the ninth floor. And then, of course, there's the "cyber library" aka free internet centre. Plus, I'm hearing rumours about a wi-fi network being set up. And there are also dhabhas and canteens at every corner--these people love their food! I'm in good company eh? ;)

I was living in the hostel until recently--I was staying as a guest cos they're taking their sweet time alotting us hostel rooms. Finally, I became sick of living out of the suitcase and moved out to a PG. It's more expensive but then I have some peace of mind! Amma and Vaishu had come down for my birthday(--and yes, those who forgot are forgiven, hehe). Otherwise, I'm not doing much new. Just reading, watching TV shows on my laptop and soaking up the Hindi.

Oh, friends! How did I forget? My classmates are all pretty friendly, though none of them have displayed any truly Gitty qualities so far. Of course, these qualities are difficult to come by, eh? There're about 22 people in my class out of which 4 are guys--no one drool-/crush-worthy, before you ask! The girls are ok (no one too drool-/crush-worthy there either, you dirty minds) but then after being in girls-only institutions for 5 years, it's not hard to deal with them ;)

Well, what else? Enough, I'm bored--you guys must be sleeping on the keyboard. I'll stop now.

Miss you Gits!

Love,
SirGit
