Musings

O Brave new world!
What time, what place,
what manner of seeing?

We have drifted off,
Dandelion air-puffs,
poised...

Silkspider webs
of love and laughter
keep us afloat,
forever one, forever free.

Dearest of dear ones, here's to new times and places and new loves. May the old ones never fade.

Ring in the New

This year hasn't been a very gitty one- not many of us have looked at this blog for a long time.
However the year is over and perhaps there will be winds of change sweeping over the land. May be 2009 will see more action and life.
With that thought in our hearts, let the gits walk into a new year that brings us closer and keeps us together.

Happy New Year!

Hello! What a CAPITAL rumour!

("CAPITAL", get it? Cos I'm in Delhi. Ok, no more groans. And ENOUGH with throwing rotten eggs at me!)
--------------------
A-hem...

Helloooo gitty ones!

I heard some rumours about keeping this blog alive so I just thought I'd drop in... and, like most rumours THAT proved to be untrue! So I'm starting a new rumour now! THIS BLOG IS ALIVE!

So get your asses here, everyone!

Am I too demanding? Huh! I don't give a damn! :P

Ok, so what's happening with me? (I'm gonna tell you, even if you don't want to know--what a treat!) Well, I have managed in my usual whining way to settle into life at JNU. It's a lovely campus--huge and green. I'm in the School of Languages, Literature and Culture Studies and my dept. is the Centre for Linguistics. Classes are excellent--we have some very important and famous Indian linguists as part of our faculty. The course is brilliant. Semantics is so far my favourite paper--it's all abstract and challenging and even slightly philosophical sometimes! Other papers are also great.

The library is HUGE! And I mean it--it's eight stories high with an electronic library coming up on the ninth floor. And then, of course, there's the "cyber library" aka free internet centre. Plus, I'm hearing rumours about a wi-fi network being set up. And there are also dhabhas and canteens at every corner--these people love their food! I'm in good company eh? ;)

I was living in the hostel until recently--I was staying as a guest cos they're taking their sweet time alotting us hostel rooms. Finally, I became sick of living out of the suitcase and moved out to a PG. It's more expensive but then I have some peace of mind! Amma and Vaishu had come down for my birthday(--and yes, those who forgot are forgiven, hehe). Otherwise, I'm not doing much new. Just reading, watching TV shows on my laptop and soaking up the Hindi.

Oh, friends! How did I forget? My classmates are all pretty friendly, though none of them have displayed any truly Gitty qualities so far. Of course, these qualities are difficult to come by, eh? There're about 22 people in my class out of which 4 are guys--no one drool-/crush-worthy, before you ask! The girls are ok (no one too drool-/crush-worthy there either, you dirty minds) but then after being in girls-only institutions for 5 years, it's not hard to deal with them ;)

Well, what else? Enough, I'm bored--you guys must be sleeping on the keyboard. I'll stop now.

Miss you Gits!

Love,
SirGit

The story so far.

U.G days have gone away and we have all ended up in different places.

KuttyGit is in Mumbai and turing into an arey-yaar ing brainiac. What with the new blog and all. (link will be uploaded soon)
PoshGit is at Acj turning herself into the journalist of the millenium- not much work necessary I feel.
SplitGit and ObsGit both prepare to take U.K by storm. Those poor Brits wont know what hit them. Come back home soon, though.
TallGit is working a year and then joining up for an MBA and will probably turn into a major tycoon who'll be invited to give inaugral lectures and distribute prizes.
SirGit has flown far from home, and is now fighting dragons in the far reaches of JNU, Delhi. Thou art much missed valiant Sir.
Gitler and Golgit wreak havoc in the unsuspecting Hyderabadi envions of EFLU. Atomic provides them with aid and adds to the comic intervals.

And that is how we are. Go forth Gits and spread your madness far and wide. Thus speaketh the High Priestess of Tig. Nema.

Ps- oy you guys we'd better meet up in Dec or at some time to refuel our Gittiness.Cheers!

HIIIIIIII!

Hey! What're you guys up to? How're you feeling? Let's talk, people! Now that Kutty has gone to Mumbai and the rest of us are all more or less set to move on from U.G. life, let's try to keep the git blog alive, eh?

Auld lang syne...
